Christy Carlson Romano is an American actress, voice actress, and singer, who rose to fame for her starring role as Ren Stevens in Even Stevens. She is best known for her voice work as the title character in the Disney Channel animated series, Kim Possible and made a cameo appearance as Poppy Blu in the live-action film of the same name. She also played Jennifer Stone in the Disney Channel original movie, Cadet Kelly and voiced Yuffie in the video game, Kingdom Hearts. From February to September 2004, she played Belle in the Broadway production of Beauty and the Beast. Romano was born in Milford, Connecticut, the youngest of four children of Anthony and Sharon Romano. She began her career at six years old when she was cast in several national tours of Broadway shows, including Annie, The Will Rogers Follies, and The Sound of Music with Marie Osmond. Her other stage credits include Parade, Avenue Q, and White Lies.
Romano made her first feature film appearance in 1996 by singing “Chiquita Banana” in Woody Allen’s Everyone Says I Love You. She also made appearances in films, like Henry Fool, Looking for an Echo, Wolvesbayne, Suicide Dolls, Mirrors 2, Prism, The Girl in the Photographs, and the television film, The Cutting Edge: Going for the Gold.
In 2004, she recorded songs for the soundtracks to Teacher’s Pet: The Movie and Zenon: Z3.
